Welcome to the website of “La Cacatúa Lodge” in Uvita de Osa in Costa Rica. "La Cacatúa Lodge" is ideally located - close to Marina Ballena National Park Costa Rica’s first national marine park created in 1989, yet tucked away in a secluded jungle setting. Wonderful beaches, good restaurants, shopping and banks are all easily accessible from our Lodge.
Spread throughout our tropical garden three bungalows house with four spacious rooms with bathroom, fridge and coffee maker and two studios equipped with kitchens. All have private terraces where you can watch the sunrise while sipping your morning tea or coffee.
Sliding glass doors lead from the bedroom to the patio. Overhead fans and if needed A/C is available. At 150 meters above sea level the evenings and nights are pleasantly cool, and A/C is not really necessary.
Each room has a Queen-size bed or 2 twin beds with orthopedic mattresses.
The bungalows are practically and tastefully decorated with locally handcrafted furniture creating a cozy atmosphere.
Enjoy the Mountain view from the swimming pool or Jacuzzi as you relax after a day of sightseeing or take a drink and a tapas at our pleasant bar.
Bird watchers will appreciate the variety of species that are attracted to our tropical garden such as toucans, trogons and hummingbirds to name a few. To date our bird list is just over 100 different species. Butterflies and animals such as sloths, iguanas, anteaters and monkeys also pay us a visit.
The area is fun for both active and relaxing holiday, such as bird watching, hiking, horseback riding, diving, snorkeling, ultra light flying, canopy, rafting, hiking, etc. etc. Rest and relax in one of our hammocks or our Jacuzzi under the open air can also.
In Uvita are some very good restaurants, some bars, internet cafes, several banks and two fairly large supermarkets. In Bahia Ballena are the souvenir shops and also some restaurants and bars.
